Lisbon, November 1, 2022 – The Falconi group is set to be a Diamond Sponsor at Web Summit Rio 2023, which will be the first edition of the innovation megaevent held in Latin America. Created in 2009 in Ireland and since 2016 held annually in Lisbon, the Web Summit has previously attracted more than 70,000 visitors to the Portuguese capital during a single edition of the event. More than 30 thousand people are expected to participate in the edition that will be held at the Riocentro convention center in Rio de Janeiro from May 1st to 4th, 2023.
Inspired by its main vectors for the expansion and diversification, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, Falconi Participações’ partnership with the Web Summit is aligned with the Group’s goal of ensuring that 30% of its revenue stems from solutions and products that make use of AI and cutting-edge technologies. The group is the fruit of the expansion of Falconi Consultores, the largest Brazilian business and people management consultancy, which has been increasingly active in the consultech area.
“Falconi is really going all in with technology, particularly with regards to Artificial Intelligence. AI is profoundly transforming consultation, allowing us to be increasingly agile and assertive in offering our clients solutions”, affirmed Viviane Martins, the CEO for both the group and its consultancy. For Martins, having Falconi sponsor the Rio Web Summit is a declaration of its commitment to technological development and the crowning achievement of efforts made since she assumed leadership of the company in 2018.
Falconi’s positioning has allowed the company to directly connect with the event, which was created by Paddy Cosgrave, David Kelly and Daire Hickey, and which for more than ten years has been bringing together some of the biggest names in global technology through its pool of events – Web Summit is also the organizer of Collision, which is held in Canada, and Rise, which takes place in Hong Kong. Martins firmly believes that the connections made at an event of this size will bring both Brazil and Latin America further into the limelight within the global innovation ecosystem.
“The Web Summit is truly inspiring, both in terms of the contact it provides with disruptive technologies that are at the forefront of innovation, and the connections that are made with actors seeking to revolutionize their markets and society in general,” Martins affirmed. “As part of its efforts to implement the most ideal model for organizational ambidexterity, Falconi focuses both on achieving sustainability in the present and building its future through continuous investment in innovation that not only touches on technology, but also provides significant advances in terms of ESG“.
Falconi and Web Summit
As a Diamond sponsor at Web Summit Rio, Falconi group will host one of the most widely-sought after events in the field of innovation, an exclusive dinner for C-level guests from major companies around Brazil and the world, as well as investors. Innovation in the Marvelous City
In a statement released by its organizing body, Web Summit stated that the choice of Rio de Janeiro as the host of its first event in Latin America was the result of a two-year process in which major Brazilian capitals such as São Paulo, Florianópolis and Porto Alegre were also taken into consideration.
“We see Latin America as the site of the most significant worldwide growth in terms of startups, with Brazil most certainly leading the way. The country has experience holding major events and we are sure that this is the right moment to make our debut in the country“, Paddy Cosgrave affirmed.
According to those responsible for organizing the event, additional events will be held around the city at iconic sights such as the Pão de Açúcar cable car and the Cristo Redentor statue. The list of speakers at the Brazilian edition has not yet been released, but the Web Summit guarantee that prominent names, such as those already seen editions of the event held in Lisbon, Toronto and Hong Kong, will also be present in Rio de Janeiro.
